School/Community Mental Health Integration

Using the Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF) and Implementation Science, Kym works with school districts and community mental health providers to streamline processes, procedures, and practices across school and community mental health systems to assure higher quality mental health care and better outcomes for youth and families. This is a large investment over 1-3 years depending on the pace of the team. The steps include creating a context for the work with implementation teams who are school and district administrators and leaders in community organizations, choosing and refining effective practices and policies that will be implemented, beginning to implement those policies and practices, refining them with the plan, do, study, act (PDSA) process and finally working on sustainability of changes over time.

Kym has facilitated this work in school districts across Kansas. This has included both urban and rural districts both small and large.
